One person, one account
Sharing an account with a friend or a coworker is not allowed and leads to suspension. This rule is why the price can stay low. If you are a company with several employees, contact us for a team plan.

Is this legal? Can I really file without a lawyer?
Yes. In Japan you are allowed to prepare and submit your own residence application. Zairyu Self helps you prepare it. If you want a professional to represent you or review your case, you can book a licensed gyoseishoshi through the app.
Which statuses of residence are supported?
At launch: Engineer / Specialist in Humanities / International Services, Dependent, Spouse or Child of Japanese National, Specified Skilled Worker (i), Business Manager, Skilled Labor, Student, Long-Term Resident, and Spouse or Child of Permanent Resident. Only the extension of period of stay is covered in version 1.
Where are my documents stored?
In a folder in your own Google Drive that you connect once. Our servers keep your account, a one-way hash of your residence card number, and an encrypted Drive token. Not the documents themselves.
Who reviewed the templates?
A licensed gyoseishoshi (Japanese immigration specialist) reviews each template before it is released. Immigration rules change, so templates are versioned and re-reviewed.
Can I use it in my language?
The app runs in English and Japanese. The documents are produced in Japanese, as immigration requires, with an English mirror so you understand each line.
Can my friend use my account?
No. One account per person. Shared accounts are suspended. This keeps the service cheap and keeps each person's data separate.
